Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. Inc.  |  Internal Control Analyst - Chairman's Office
New York City   |   12/96
At Bernstein, an investment management and research firm, I was part of a small staff that worked on special projects under the direction of the Chairman / CEO. Selected accomplishments:
Performed a comprehensive vetting of the client's pension portfolios, vis--vis investment guidelines; enumerating all violations, from asset-allocation to specific holdings -- including currency hedging strategies and equity, debt and derivative positions.
Analyzed and redesigned the controls and procedures used in moving securities, both physical and book-entry, throughout the firm and to and from regional offices and external institutions.
Analyzed and redesigned the controls and procedures used in reconciling security positions and cash balances between our records and that of the client's custodian.
Performed a comprehensive review of all account categories on the firm's books, detailing all instances where erroneous or fraudulent entries would go undetected.

Federal Reserve Bank of New York  |  Senior Operations Analyst - Fiscal Services
New York City   |   8/94
The New York Fed, in its Fiscal Agency role, issues U.S. Treasury Securities. My position was a project-oriented job in which I supported the Function's operations and administration.
Developed Unit Cost data analysis models; detailing causes of movements in the Function's "profitability".
Directed the Function's three-pronged reengineering project (process flow analysis, client / server system implementation and space plan design).
Presentations to senior bank officers on financial and operational issues.
Analyzed actual performance against the annual budget and created variance reports based on any deviations.
Resolved an ongoing (over 10 years) dilemma with the IRS, in regards to tax withholding account discrepancies.
Developed high-level memorandums and general correspondence for the Bank's senior executives and officers, e.g., formal proposals and budgeting executive summaries.
Designed and implemented a local area network for Treasury Direct maintenance transactions, i.e., security transfers, reinvestments and estate cases, resulting in a decrease of dedicated staff from 5 to 3.
Proposed, developed and implemented intra-departmental personal computer classes.
